Chief Financial Officer

We are currently looking to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company working with the Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.  Oversees the financial functions of the corporation, including financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedures, and the organization's relationship with the financial community.  The position directs the controller function, accounting, treasury and tax and directs the functions of information systems.

The essential functions of this position:

  • Plans, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
  • Participates in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Develops credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Board and CEO in performing their responsibilities.
  • Enhances and/or develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  • Participates in continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments.
  • Optimizes the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Develops a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Is an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter.
  • Evaluates the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and provides individuals with professional and personal growth.
  • Prepares all offering memoranda and SEC reporting

Qualifications/licensure:

  • Minimum of three consecutive years of SEC reporting including Form 10Q and Form 10K.
  • Minimum three years of experience with compliance of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Bachelor degree in Finance & Accounting
  • CPA License
  • Ten years of advanced accounting experience

C++ Senior Software Engineer

We are currently looking to fill the position of a Senior Software Engineer in our San Antonio office.  We seek intelligent individuals who are great Windows programmers that can also lead small teams of like minded developers.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in the design and development of complex software systems and experience serving as a team lead. GlobalSCAPE provides an excellent opportunity for experience and growth.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities focus on taking ideas and turning them into reality within in an application, and doing so in a correct, consistent, and easy-to-maintain manner.  Productivity is important, along with the ability to analyze problems and find more than one solution – then see the best one and lead a team to build it.

Necessary skills include:

  • Review and understand requirements for feature development and bug fixing.
  • Design and implement effective and easy-to-maintain Visual C++ code for Windows applications in a timely manner.
  • Clearly and frequently communicate vertically, laterally and downward in order to ensure proper understanding of tasks, provide status updates, and avoid errors.
  • Clearly and concisely document design choices for developed code.
  • Assess and manage risk, change, and timelines for assigned work.
  • Resolve highly complex technical issues and conduct advanced research.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, or 4+ years in professional software development field.
  • 4+ years experience in writing Windows software, including Client/Server applications, advanced GUI applications, and/or NT Services.
  • Extremely proficient in OOP design and development using Visual C++/MFC/Win32/COM/STL and related programming concepts and practices.
  • Ability to lead others on team-oriented software development projects.
  • Strong problem-solving, design, coding, and communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of the Windows architecture, TCP/IP and multithreaded programming for developing enterprise-class software applications.
  • Experience in developing applications using security and communication technologies, including: communication protocols (HTTP/S,FTP/S,SSH,SMTP), encryption (SSL/certificates, PGP), authentication (AD/LDAP/SSO), and compression algorithms.
  • Experience in debugging applications using a variety of tools, including post-mortem crash dump analysis.
  • Experience in database development, .NET, and Java technologies is considered an additional asset.

Level 2 Server Support Technician

 We are currently looking to fill the position of a Level 2 Server Support Technician in our San Antonio office.  This position is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting customers with product installation, setup, configuration and basic/advanced troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Expert problem-solver. Sorts through complex issues and conducts comparative analysis of multiple solutions.
  • Extensive PC, Web site and network experience required.
    • Thorough knowledge of latest Windows operating systems, including Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP and Windows 2000.
    • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, ODBC, SQL, IIS, MSDE and SQL.
    • Familiarity with PGP, SSH and HTTPS security practices.
    • Familiarity with mainframe and Linux/*nix systems.
    • Strong Internet and enterprise network connectivity troubleshooting skills.
    • FTP and Web server administration and client setup skills required.
    • Proficiency in scripting required.

We are currently looking to fill the position of a Director of Internet & e-Commerce  in our San Antonio office.  We seek intelligent individuals  with the ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the online marketing of an organization's products and/or services.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Ensures achievements of Internet driven revenue goals; establishes online marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services.
  • Develops and executes online marketing plans and programs including managing the implementation of web, email, newsletter, affiliate and online advertising.
  • Responsible for market research, database segmentation and compliance with current laws.
  • Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
  • Plans and oversees the organization's advertising and promotion activities specifically linked to its Web presence, such as contests.
  • Communicates with outside advertising agencies on ongoing Web-based campaigns.
  • Develops and recommends online commerce strategy for the organization which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy.
  • Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Conducts marketing surveys and focus groups on current and new product concepts.
  • Prepares online marketing activity reports.
  • Works with customers and technology vendors to maximize opportunities in Company's Web-based presence.
  • Responsible for shopping cart implementation and enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to effectively present information both written and oral and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
